SPECapc® for Maya® 2017

The SPECapc® for Maya® 2017 benchmark is performance evaluation software for vendors and users of computing systems running Maya 2017 3D animation software. It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10 64-bit platforms. The benchmark includes nearly 80 individual tests that reflect the processes used to model, animate and render scenes within Maya 2017. Users must have a licensed or trial version of Autodesk Maya 2017 with Update 4 applied to run the benchmark.

On December 13, 2017, SPECapc released an updated version of the Maya 2017 benchmark that improves the way multi-sample anti-aliasing (MSAA) is measured. Results from V1.0.6 of SPECapc for Maya 2017 are not comparable to those from previous versions of the benchmark.

SPECapc® for Siemens NX 9.0 and NX 10.0

The SPECapc for NX 9/10 benchmark, released on July 6, 2016, can be run with Siemens NX 9.0 or NX 10.0, although results from the two different application versions are not comparable. Users need an NX 9 or NX 10 license that includes the NX Shape Studio or equivalent bundle for Advanced Studio rendering. The benchmark is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit platforms.

Seven models representing common use cases are included in SPECapc for NX 9/10. The benchmark executes graphics tests that include rotation, pan, zoom and clipping for each model. CPU tests within the benchmark measure performance for field of view (FOV) and feature regeneration operations. Anti-aliasing can be enabled or disabled to allow users to assess performance differences between the two modes.

SPECapc® for Solidworks 2017

The SPECapc for Solidworks 2017 benchmark, introduced on August 15, 2018, is performance evaluation software for vendors and users of computing systems running Solidworks 2015 CAD/CAM software. It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit platforms.

A fully licensed or trial version of Solidworks 2017 Service Pack 5 or greater is required to run the benchmark. Solidworks feature enhancements such as RealView and Order Independent Transparency (OIT) are baked into the application and support for new graphics hardware is added via service packs. This is the reason that SPECapc has deviated from its norm of requiring just one specific service pack when running the benchmark. Please be aware that performance might differ between service packs. Solidworks 2017 does not support the use of OIT for all graphics hardware, and will instead use an older style transparency for these cases, so all results might not be directly comparable.

SPECapc requests that users review the setup instructions in the user guide before running this benchmark, since there are requirements specific to this particular product. A copy of the user guide is included on this website for convenience.

SPECviewperf® 13

UPDATE (May 23, 2018): The SPECviewperf 13 benchmark was released on May 23, 2018. It is supported under Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit RS3 or later. New features include volume visualization viewsets for energy and medical applications, a redesigned GUI, improved scoring and reporting methods, and updated viewsets to support more recent versions of the applications on which they are based. Results for SPECviewperf 13 are not comparable to those from previous versions.

The SPECviewperf 13 benchmark is a worldwide standard for measuring graphics performance based on professional applications. It measures the 3D graphics performance of systems running under the OpenGL and Direct X application programming interfaces. The benchmark does not require the full application and associated licensing to be installed on the system under test, simplifying set-up, running and results reporting.

SPECviewperf® 13 Linux Edition

The SPECviewperf 13 Linux Edition benchmark, released on March 13, 2019, measures the 3D graphics performance of systems running under the OpenGL application programming interface. The benchmark does not require the full application and associated licensing to be installed on the system under test, simplifying set-up, running and results reporting.

The Linux Edition benchmark is supported under Ubuntu Linux 16.04 or 18.04. Traces for the Linux Edition were obtained from the Windows versions of the applications represented in the viewsets (workloads). While this means the viewsets are not fully representative of native applications running on Linux, they still contain the same model complexity and rendering modes that exercise software and hardware layers in similar ways.

Results from the Linux Edition benchmark are comparable to those from the Windows edition of SPECviewperf 13, but they should not be correlated to Linux application performance, since most of the applications represented by viewsets within SPECviewperf 13 do not run natively on Linux. Results from either editions of the version 13 benchmark are not comparable to those from previous versions.
