SPEC JVM Client98 Help Stop Button

The Stop button terminates a benchmark run in progress throwing a ThreadDeath exception. If a series of benchmarks are being run, then it stops the entire series. If an autorun sequence is in progress then it stops that sequence. Note however that it fails to stop all threads of a multi-threaded program (_224_richards, _227_mtrt, and _233_tmix). The main thread is terminated but child threads may continue. In this case, although the status indicator shows "Ready" the previous benchmark may still also be running. If you then start a second benchmark before the first is finished, it will suffer performance degradation. If you restart the a benchmark while another copy of the same benchmark is still running, erroneous results may be produced and an error may be reported.
