Durability Requirement Info: To ensure database durability, RAID 1 (mirror disks) was used for the database and XA transaction logs maintained on the Sun StorEdge 3310 Array. Each application server has a pair of mirrored disks (using Solaris Volume Manager) to provide durability for the message queues.
Storage Requirement Info: An 80 minute run at an injection rate of 268 increased storage by 350 MB This extrapolates to 8.5 GB of storage for a 24 hour run. The database is configured with 400 GB of mirrored data storage.
Argument Passing Semantics: Sun Java System Application Server 8.1 uses pass-by-value semantics by default.

The submission used round-robin DNS for load-balance of all HTTP network requests. The DNS server was hosted on one of the application servers. This submission used the xerces implementation 2.6.2 provided with the Sun Java System Application Server 8.1. The emulator used xerces implementation 2.5.0 provided with the Jakarta Tomcat 4.1.31.
