By downloading the benchmarks below, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by the terms of the SPEC General License Agreement.

NOTE: The SPECapc benchmarks provide only the performance testing software. They do not include the actual applications, which are the intellectual property of their respective software vendors (e.g. SPECapc for 3ds Max 2015 does not include a copy of 3ds Max 2015 software).

SPECapc® for 3ds Max 2015

SPECapc for 3ds Max 2015 is performance evaluation software for vendors and users of computing systems running 3ds Max 2015 3D animation software. It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit platforms. The benchmark includes 48 tests exercising the latest features in 3ds Max 2015. Users must have a current version of 3ds Max 2015 with Service Pack 1 applied to run the benchmark.

SPECapc® for Maya® 2017

The SPECapc® for Maya® 2017 benchmark is performance evaluation software for vendors and users of computing systems running Maya 2017 3D animation software. It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10 64-bit platforms. The benchmark includes nearly 80 individual tests that reflect the processes used to model, animate and render scenes within Maya 2017. Users must have a licensed or trial version of Autodesk Maya 2017 with Update 4 applied to run the benchmark.

On December 13, 2017, SPECapc released an updated version of the Maya 2017 benchmark that improves the way multi-sample anti-aliasing (MSAA) is measured. Results from V1.0.6 of SPECapc for Maya 2017 are not comparable to those from previous versions of the benchmark.

SPECapc® for Siemens NX 9.0 and NX 10.0

The SPECapc for NX 9/10 benchmark, released on July 6, 2016, can be run with Siemens NX 9.0 or NX 10.0, although results from the two different application versions are not comparable. Users need an NX 9 or NX 10 license that includes the NX Shape Studio or equivalent bundle for Advanced Studio rendering. The benchmark is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit platforms.

Seven models representing common use cases are included in SPECapc for NX 9/10. The benchmark executes graphics tests that include rotation, pan, zoom and clipping for each model. CPU tests within the benchmark measure performance for field of view (FOV) and feature regeneration operations. Anti-aliasing can be enabled or disabled to allow users to assess performance differences between the two modes.

SPECapc® for SolidWorks 2015

SPECapc for SolidWorks 2015, introduced on July 29, 2015, is performance evaluation software for vendors and users of computing systems running SolidWorks 2015 CAD/CAM software. It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit platforms.

A fully licensed or trial version of SolidWorks 2015 Service Pack 2 or greater is required to run the benchmark. SolidWorks feature enhancements such as RealView and OIT are baked into the application and support for new graphics hardware is added via service packs. This is the reason that SPECapc has deviated from its norm of requiring just one specific service pack when running the benchmark. Please be aware that performance might differ between service packs. SolidWorks 2015 does not support the use of OIT transparency for all graphics hardware, and will instead use an older style transparency for these cases, so all results might not be directly comparable.

SPECapc requests that users review the setup instructions before running this benchmark. The group recommends resetting application settings back to default and then following the setup instructions to ensure users have the proper settings before running the benchmark. The default application settings need to be altered for PhotoView360 for the CPU tests to run and display properly. The run rules are included in the benchmark package, and have details about the requirements for running the benchmark.

SPECviewperf® 12.1.1

UPDATE (August 24, 2016): SPECviewperf 12.1 was released on August 24, 2016. It includes a new Autodesk 3ds Max viewset, Microsoft Windows 10 support, and GUI and reporting improvements. Results for SPECviewperf 12.1 are comparable to those from SPECviewperf 12.0.2 and 12.0.1, but not to any other previous versions.

SPECviewperf 12 is a worldwide standard for measuring graphics performance based on professional applications. It measures the 3D graphics performance of systems running under the OpenGL and Direct X application programming interfaces. The benchmark does not require the full application and associated licensing to be installed on the system under test, simplifying set-up, running and results reporting.

SPECwpcSM V2.1

SPECwpc is performance evaluation software for vendors and users of physical and virtualized workstations that run professional applications. It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 64-bit platforms. The benchmark includes more than 30 tests in six categories: media and entertainment (3D animation, rendering), product development (CAD/CAM/CAE), life sciences (medical, molecular), financial services, energy and general operations. The benchmark does not require the full application and associated licensing to be installed on the system under test, simplifying set-up, running and results reporting.

The latest version is SPECwpc 2.1, which fixes an issue that caused the benchmark to crash in the Financial Services section when running Windows 10. The change has led to higher scores for the Financial Services composite number, so those results cannot be compared to results from SPECwpc 2.0.
