The OpenGL port of the Picture-Level Benchmark (PLB) has been approved by the PLB project group for free distribution to the public. The GPC News includes instructions for downloading the OpenGL sample implementation via ftp.
The PLB is software that allows graphics performance to be measured in the same way across different vendors' proprietary application programming interfaces (APIs). Its availability under OpenGL will make the PLB accessible to a wider range of graphics users and vendors.
A PEXlib sample implementation of the PLB is also available publicly. Current members of the PLB project group include Digital Equipment Corp., Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Sun Microsystems.
