This issue of the GPC News includes the first results based on Version 5.0 of Viewperf. Results for two new viewsets, and an updated version of the CDRS viewset also appear for the first time in this issue.

With V5.0, Viewperf has been upgraded to provide greater compatibility across different platforms and to support new feature sets. The two new viewsets come from Advanced Visualizer, Alias/Wavefront's software for 3D modeling, animation, rendering, image composition and video output; and Lightscape Technologies' Lightscape Visualization System, which simulates global illumination effects. The CDRS viewset was updated to accommodate changes in Viewperf 5.0.
